Visiting the New Acropolis Museum and other Adventures

Learning about how the Metro works on our way to the flea market.

We did it!!
And amazingly everyone got off at the right station.

We got to visit the local Flea Market to bargain for souvenirs and gifts.

We visited the New Acropolis Museum today which was very interesting.  It contains many of the sculptures and statues that were excavated from many of the Ancient Greek archeological sights.

This is an ongoing excavation project going on under the museum which is uncovering an ancient neighborhood on this site. Visitors will be able to stroll through this neighborhood in the future when they visit the museum.

These are the original caryatids from the temple of Athena at the Acropolis.  These are the only sculptures we were allowed to photograph in the museum.

Since we spent almost the entire day walking today, many of the students were pretty wiped out by the end of our museum tour.

After dinner and a little catnap, we performed in a concert at a Greek cultural center.  We enjoyed listening to traditional Greek music from a wonderful choir.
